I love thinking about the True Reason For the Season
Jesus Christ Died for Us
  • Celebrate the Resurrection: A Christ-centered Easter focuses on the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is the central event of the Christian faith and is the reason why Easter is celebrated.
  • Reflect on the Passion: Christ-centered Easter also includes reflecting on the passion of Christ, which includes the events leading up to his crucifixion. This reflection helps Christians to appreciate the sacrifice that Jesus made for humanity.
  • Attend Church Services: Attending church services during Easter is an important part of a Christ-centered celebration. It is an opportunity to worship together with other believers and to strengthen faith in Jesus Christ.
  • Spend Time in Prayer: Christians can also spend time in prayer during Easter. This can be done individually or with a group of believers. Prayer is an important way to connect with God and to seek his guidance and blessings.
  • Share the Good News: Finally, a Christ-centered Easter involves sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with others. This can be done through personal evangelism, inviting others to church services, or simply by living out the message of the gospel in our daily lives.

No Soliciting Unless...

I have noticed that it is becoming popular to see signs outside of many doors with No Soliciting notices on them.  This has been a trend for many, many years, but more recently I have seen signs with an amendment to the no soliciting sign.  I have seen a lot of different versions of these, but most of them have something that indicates that if you are selling girls scout cookies, you can ring the bell but not if you want to talk about Christ.

In my church we talk a lot about Christ and if you want to come up to my door or write a post on my blog, and talk to me about the Savior, I welcome you with open arms day or night.  In the Book of Mormon there is a scripture that explains why.  It is in 2 Nephi 25:26, it says,

“And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins.”

I know a lot of my friends who are not of my faith often wonder why we spend so much time trying to share our beliefs with others.  There is an article that explains it so well, called “Come and See,”  If you read this article or watch the video, it will explain why my “No Soliciting Sign” has an exemption to anyone who wants to talk about the Savior. www.lds.org/general-conference/2014/10/come-and-see?lang=eng&media=video#watch=video.

The Battle Between Good and Evil

An old Cherokee told his grandson, "My son, there is a battle between two wolves inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, jealousy, greed, resentment, inferiority, lies, and ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness, empathy, and truth." The boy thought about it and asked, "Grandfather, which wolf wins?" The old man quietly replied, "The one you feed."
